Blog Challenge- May 15th

The Ode to The Devouring

It starts on Sorrow Night

When the sun goes down and the stars are bright

The vours come to devour you

They eat your soul and send it where no one has a clue

Leaving you with no emotion

Like the ocean

They like to eat your fears

Little by little until there are tears

You become a totally different person

You worsen

Inhumane, a tattle tailer, and violent

But sometimes so slient

They have a scary priority

It is the reality diary

The Devouring

Review of book and hobby blog!

Now this is a special week where I have a cross over between a book review and a hobby review. So there are going to be many connections between the 2 subjects. I am going to be reviewing the book blog of the Devouring and and a reading blog about books.

The Devouring website has everything you need to know. It has a precis of the book, and some facts that you might want to know about the book. The homepage of the website has a picture of the front cover of the book. The design of the blog is like the front cover. I love how it is in purple. It really matches the website. On the top, it has 8 subtopics ranging from the story to other phobias. There are some really interesting things on the blog.

I think that this blog is really handy for people who need some information about the book or anything new or updates about the next books in the series. Also, this site could be used as a guideline for a project or a blog like mine. I really enjoyed reading it and I shall use it as my reference.

Now I am going to review this blog as a hobby. I have to admit, at the beginning of grade 8, I wasn't a really big fan of reading. I always thought that reading was something that I could never enjoyed. Until I read one book. This book changed my whole perspective and opinion on books. Now, I love reading books. It is not like torture to read books.

So I am going to review another book blog. It is a blog that reviews books. The books are more in the adult range. It has all the information necessary about the books. There is a small precis explaining some of the book. I think that this blog would be enjoyed more by the adult age group and less by adolescents but very helpful. This blog is perfect if you want to find the right book to read.

The Devouring

Last week, I described the book the Hunger Games. Are you excited now? Are you drooling for that book now? You should be. But this week, I am going to write about a different book. While I was reading this, my body felt so cold! I also had goosebumps everywhere while reading this book. If you like horror books than read the devouring!

The Devouring is about a 15 year old girl named Reggie. Her and her best guy friend Aaron start reading a dairy of a lady. The name of the dairy is the Devouring. It is about a strange type of creatures called Vours. They devour your fears and your soul. They come on Sorrow Night when you are most scared. But Reggie thinks this is a joke book. She doesn't think it is reality until her brother starts becoming stranger and stranger. Her brother becomes heartless, violent, and starts blaming other people for his faults. When she finds out that the vours took his soul, she finds out more about where they actually come from. Nobody believes her except Aaron and her boss (book store). She goes through a tough adventure to find where her brothers soul is, where hes is confined. She needs to get him out of there before it is too late.

The characters of the book are actually very convincing. I like them very much. I can really connect to them in a way. I think that Reggie really loves her brother. She goes through everything so much just to get her brother back. I think that Aaron is a very nice boy. He is a true friend and really takes care and looks out for Reggie. Henry, Reggie's little brother, is really a kind brother. He and Reggie are really close. Until the vours take over his soul and cast it of to another universe. Now Reggie is the protagonist so she is the main character. Aaron and Henry are the secondary characters.

I think that this book was amazing. I loved the storyline. It was one of the best books I have ever read. It has all the necessary action and suspense. I loved the genre of the book. Horror books are so interesting. If I were you, I would get off the computer right now, and go get the best book on the planet................... The Devouring!

I rate this book:

I rate this book an Alexandria because I thought it was one of the best books I have ever read.

Review of book blog????

Yes, I know what you are thinking now. The Internet and books, how is that possible. But when you have a blog about a book it is. This week, I am going to review a book blog or an author blog.........

I am reviewing the author blog of Suzanne Collins. Suzanne Collins is the author of the book The Hunger Games. She is very talented, and loves reading. Now, let me review her blog.

On her blog, her homepage is not very "obvious". By obvious, I mean it is not the most appealing home page. She has a picture of herself and below that has some reviews sent to her from her fans about her books. I read some of the comments and they are excellent. They really write positive things. On the side, she has a blog manifesto and welcomes everyone entering her blog. She also has reviews on the side of newspapers and other authors and writers. There are 3 subtopics or sub-divisions on the top. They are in white. Her subtopics are Works, Biography, and Interview. She explains about each topic.

I think that this blog was really good. I enjoyed reading new facts about the author and I thought it was very informative. I recommend for people to use this blog if they need more information on the book or author. Enjoy!

The Hunger Games

As you have seen, every week I talk about a new book. Well, this week, I am going to talk and explain about a book called The Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games is about a 16 year old girl named Katniss Everdeen who lives in District 12 (Panem) with her mother and her sister. There is an annual hunger games every year. They have to choose one girl and one boy. There is a draw that decides these people. Katniss loves her family and she would never want her sister to be chosen. But when this ordeal happens, Katniss takes her sisters place as a volunteer to take part in The Hunger Games. Her and a boy named Peeta. There are many captions and rules that follow the hunger games. Only one person can win the hunger games in all (out of 25 children ranging from 12-18 years of age). You have to read the book to find out who will be the champion of the one and only Hunger Games.

I actually found the main character Katniss not really interesting. I could not connect to her and I didn't like her personality even though she was the protagonist. I liked Peeta's personality, but there were some downs to it. He seemed a little but strange. I didn't like the way he explained one of the climaxes. I like all the other characters including: Haymitch, Cinna, Mrs. Everdeen, Primrose (Prim),etc.

Overall, I am going to rate this book the city of London. I didn't find the book that wonderful. The ending was not very good and a little bit stopped at a weird place. I found that the action was only for about 100-200 pages of the book. I personally think that the characters were not my favourite and I could not connect to them at all. That is why I rate this book a London.

I rate this book:

If you are going to read this book, the climaxes are intense so be prepared.

Blog challenge- May 8th

For this week, my blog challenge refers to a fun game. It involves many connections between books and other things. Actually it seems like a free verse poem. So now, I am going to refer a book to actualities or things that I have seen.

So I am going to use the book the Hunger Games. It is not my favourite book but you can refer and connect it to several ways.

The book Hunger Games
Hunger Games reminds me of the website I visited about the book.
Websites are found all over the Internet.
You can find these websites on google.
On google you can find a lot of information about news around the world.
There is so much news about wars the are happening around the world. They talk about the war in Afghanistan.
The soldiers loved ones are so devastated
Some soldiers fight and get killed.
Like in the Hunger Games when they have to fight to death.

If you see, it all connects. Everything matches the next situation. The first and last thing also connect.

Here are some links I found on the connections:

I also got some of my information from things that happened throughout the book.
